Abstract:
A palladiumkieselguhr composite (Pd/K) was prepared by PdCl
2 dipping-reducing method. Distribution of palladium and hydrogen absorption/desorption properties including pressure-composition isotherms (
p-C-T curves), absorption kinetics, thermodynamic parameters and absorption/desorption cycling properties of the Pd/K composite were investigated. Compared to pure palladium, hydrogen uptake capacity of the Pd/K composite is decreased, the absorption plateau pressure and plateau slope increase slightly, but the absorption rate is doubled. After 2 000 cycles of hydrogen absorption/desorption, hydrogen uptake capacity and absorption kinetics of the Pd/K composite keep stable with a pulverization rate of 3.6%(mass).
