Abstract:
Copper reextraction with oxalic acid from organic phase including Cu
2+-HDEHP in tetrachloride carbon in a modified Lewis cell was studied. The concentration of oxalic acid was investigated by on-line detection using the method of conductance. The instantaneous and average coefficient of mass transfer were used to study the influence on interfacial mass transfer process by employing different direction, voltage, plate electrode and different area or their combination in Lewis cell. The research indicates that variation of voltage and electrode area can affect the velocity of mass transfer. But the electric field which moves an angle of 45° from the direction of mass transfer or their combination has prominent impact on interfacial mass transfer. It shows that the configuration of mass transfer resistance or interfacial layer has the characteristic of aeolotropism.
