Abstract:
A magnetic analysis system for a compact magnetic proton recoil spectrometer dedicated to pulse DT neutron spectroscopy in special experimental environments was presented. Performance of the system was analyzed using 3-D particle transport calculation and Monte-Carlo simulation. Energy calibration of the system was obtained using CR-39 track detector and mono-energetic α particles. The results indicate that the magnetic analysis system has achieved satisfactory performance on energy dispersion and focusing. It can achieve a detection efficiency of approximately (0.5-1.4)×10
-4 with an energy resolution from 1.5% to 2.1% (for 7 MeV protons) in a given energy range of recoil protons.
