Abstract: The first wall structural material of fusion reactors must meet extremely rigorous operation environment requirements and it is one of the key factors restricting the development of fusion reactors. Nano-structured oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steels are the leading candidates for fusion first wall due to their excellent irradiation resistance coming from their characteristic microstructures. This paper described briefly the current state of development and understanding of ODS steels.
