Abstract:
ITER high temperature superconducting current lead (HTS CL) transports the huge current from room temperature termination to the low temperature superconducting magnet, and it has a high requirement in safety. HTS CL mainly contains the copper section and HTS module, and HTS module is the critical part of HTS CL. The technique of vacuum stack soldering and the fabrication of HTS module of 10 kA current lead were described. In order to verify the performance of conduction heat and quench process, the steady state and transient state experiments were performed. The results indicate that the heat leak and the margin in safety can meet the design requirements of ITER.
