Abstract:
An experiment on surface-wave wave characteristics of falling water film of vertical plate was completed by means of large-scale water film stabilities experiment rig. Surface wave shape pattern, amplitude, speed and frequency were measured and analyzed with capacitance measuring instrument of thin-film thickness and high-speed video camera. Experimental result indicates that solitary wave amplitude and speed are directly proportional to water film
Re, respectively. While solitary wave frequency has been suffered much more affect by inlet disturbance and initial contour of water film than water film
Re, and has weak dependence with water film
Re.
