Abstract: Fluent software was employed in the fluid and heat transfer natural convection simulation of the AP1000 passive residual heat removal heat exchanger (PRHR HX). The temperature and velocity distributions among tube bundle and water tank were investigated. The references for the design and operation of passive residual heat removal system were provided.
