Abstract:
Wien filter is an important element of beam transport, and its performance is largely dependent on the homogeneity of its electric field. With the finite element code, the electrode configuration of Wien filter was optimized by comparison of different electrode configurations. The results show that the homogeneous field of optimized electrode configuration is nearly the same as the configuration with some equalizers without increasing the size of electrode. Therefore, the optimized electrode configuration can replace the configuration with equalizers in Wien filter, and this will greatly simplify the configuration of Wien filter.
