Abstract:
Thyratron switch plays an important role in high voltage, large current, and fast pulsed technology region. The trigger circuit for thyratron is one of the major determinants of thyratron’s switching performance. Besides upgrade in level and rise-time of G2 trigger pulse, the dual pulse trigger technique can efficiently decrease thyratron’s time jitter. According to universality, reliability and maintainability, an integrated solid state dual pulse thyratron trigger was developed and put into service in BEPCⅡ. After testing, the time jitter of the thyratron is less than 1 ns with the trigger. The operation for 3 years proves that the trigger is very reliable with low failure rate.
