Abstract:
On the basis of discrete ordinates and Monte Carlo methods, the 3D discrete ordinates and Monte Carlo coupled system TDOMINO was developed. The ways of coupling were flexible since different coordinates can be selected for various coupled analyses. The validation of the coupled system TDOMINIO was completed with the HBR-2 benchmark provided by Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The coupled models were established in Cartesian and cylindrical coordinate systems, respectively. The specific activities for the six dosimeters in the surveillance capsule were calculated. The comparison between the experimental measurements and the calculation results from DORT, MCNP and TORT codes provided by the benchmark report demonstrates that TDOMINO has good accuracy and is suitable to solve the complex radiation shielding calculation problems.
