Real-time α/γ Pulse Shape Digital Discrimination Using Rise-time Method

  • 摘要: 基于CsI(Tl)探测器的α/γ波形甄别能力,采用上升时间法,设计了一种波形实时甄别系统,系统由高速ADC和高性能FPGA组成。介绍了实时甄别系统的方案设计和甄别算法设计,利用60Co γ源、241Am α源对实时系统进行了甄别测试。研究表明:设计的数字化实时波形甄别系统体积小,能实时甄别开α、γ粒子,甄别品质因子为0.6875,事件计数率可达2.5×105 s-1

     

    Abstract: A real-time α/γ pulse shape discriminator based on CsI(Tl) scintillator was developed. The rise-time method was adopted as the inserted algorithm. The real-time discriminator consists of a high-speed ADC and a high-property PFGA. In this paper, the design scheme and the discrimination algorithm of the system were introduced. The real-time system was tested with a 60Co γ source and a 241Am α source. The results show that the size of the designed real-time system is small. The discrimination figure of merit is 0.6875. The system can discriminate α and γ events in real time and its throughput of events is up to 2.5×105 s-1.
