Abstract:
The dual energy computed tomography (CT) technology has strong identification capabilities for both structure and composition, which has been widely used in medical, industrial and other fields. In this paper, the dual energy CT technology was put into the cultural protection field, and two small size bronze corrosion defects (the defects are respectively in a sealed hollow inner surface and inside a solid object) were selected. The results show that the reconstruction relative error is within 10%. The preliminary results can be used to understand corrosions better and develop more effective rehabilitation plan for cultural protection researchers.
