Design of Gas Valve Control System for SSC-LINAC Ion Source

  • 摘要: 气阀是离子源的关键组件之一,目前气阀多采用电动方式调节进气量,而气阀控制系统的性能则直接影响束流的品质。正在建造中的SSC直线加速器(SSC-LINAC)离子源采用了先进的蒸发冷却技术,该离子源要求采用电机调节两个气阀的开度,实现位置的精准控制,且精度与可靠性均要高,稳定性要好。本文采用伺服电机为该离子源设计了具备精准位置控制的控制系统,目前已通过3个月的现场连续运行考验,运行良好,精准位置精度可达0.3°。

     

    Abstract: Gas valve is one of the key components in ion source. In order to adjust the intake of gas, electrically driven operated system is widely used in the control of gas valve. The performance of gas valve control system directly affects the quality of the beams. SSC-LINAC ion source under construction adopted the advanced evaporative cooling technology. This ion source required the use of the motor to adjust two gas valves’ opening and to achieve precise position control and high reliability and stability. Adopting servo motor, the control system was designed which contained precise position control for the ion source. Now the control system has passed continuous operation test of three months and it runs well. Precise position precision can reach 0.3 degree.
