Abstract:
The critical heat flux (CHF) test with a 5×5 bundle was simulated by FLICA, which is a subchannel thermal-hydraulic analysis code. Furthermore, the CHF data were predicted by the direct substitution method (DSM) and the heat balance method (HBM) with available CHF correlation, respectively. By comparison between the measured and predicted CHF data, it is demonstrated that the HBM is a more suitable method for comparison between the test bundle CHF data and those predicted with the available correlation.
