Abstract:
With the development of China’s nuclear industry, a vast amount of low and intermediate level radioactive waste with long-lived radionuclide was accumulated. IAEA proposed to dispose this waste by intermediate depth disposal. For the study, the waste source terms in China which need to be disposed by intermediate depth were investigated and analyzed. On this basis, with reference of safety goals for radioactive waste intermediate depth disposal abroad, combining the existing relevant nuclear safety legal system, it is proposed that long-term safety goal is 1 mSv/a, the operation-safety goal is more than 1000a, and safety protection time scale of intermediate depth disposal facilities in China can reference GB 13600. The activity limits of the main radionuclides of drilling scene and after-drilling scene were preliminary estimated by OECD/NEA.
