Abstract: For calculating the excitation function of ¹⁸⁶W(p,n)¹⁸⁶Re^g reaction, some experimental data in EXFOR data base were collected and evaluated. After comparing the evaluated data with the theoretical data calculated by the EMPIRE code, the proper optical model potential and the level density parameters were chosen. Then the recommended value of the reaction cross section and the thick target yield were given. Using the excitation function, the thick target yield for the therapeutic radioisotope ¹⁸⁶Re^g was calculated and the recommended value was given.
