Abstract:
In order to research the metrological and scattering features in a minitype reference radiation (MRR) with isotope cesium source, the Monte Carlo program MCNP was used to simulate and analyze the MRR. Comparison between simulation and experiments was also carried out in the work. The metrological and scattering radiation characteristics of the MRR, which is a 600 mm cubic box shielded by lead with isotope cesium source, are clarified in this paper. The influence of the probe size on the scattering components in an MRR is defined. The position of the metrological feature point used to characterize the scattering feature is also determined by the work.
