串道现象对测量结果的影响

Influence of Crosstalk Phenomenon on Measurement Result

  • 摘要: 为更加准确地评价低水平放射性样品的测量结果,利用低本底α/β测量仪研究了串道现象对测量结果的影响及其影响程度。利用239Pu和90Sr-90Y电镀源测定了α通道与β通道之间的串道因子,结果表明:α通道对β通道的串道现象明显,在样品测量时应考虑扣除串道带来的计数;β通道对α通道的串道影响很小,但在β净计数率足够高时,仍会对α的测量结果带来明显影响。样品测量过程中,考虑到不同α核素导致的串道因子之间的差异,为避免单一核素刻度串道因子引入新的误差,使用合适的遮挡物完全屏蔽样品中的α射线,可确保测量结果更加准确。

     

    Abstract: In order to evaluate the measurement results more accurately, the influence and its degree of crosstalk phenomenon on the measurement results were studied by using the low background alpha and beta measuring instrument. The crosstalk factor between alpha and beta channels was measured by using 90Sr-90Y and 239Pu electroplating source. The results indicate that the crosstalk factor of alpha to beta is obvious, and the counts from crosstalk should be deducted. The crosstalk factor of beta to alpha is negligible, but it still could bring significant impact to measurement results when the net counts of beta are high enough. In the process of sample measurement, the difference of crosstalk factor caused by different radionuclides should be considered. In order to avoid introducing a new error from the crosstalk factor which is acquired from single radionuclide, using appropriate shielding materials to shield the alpha radiation is an effective way to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results.
