混合场β/γ能谱探测器的研制

Development of Prototype Detector for β and γ Spectra in β/γ Mixed Field

  • 摘要: 为解决β/γ混合场两种射线能谱测量过程中的互相干扰问题,研制了一台含有3层闪烁晶体的叠层闪烁探测器样机,设计了脉冲形状甄别算法,实现了β/γ射线类型的甄别,并研究了同时获取两种射线能谱的方法。在14C、36Cl和90Sr/90Y 3枚β源实验中,样机将β粒子误甄别为γ的概率均小于0.1%。在241Am、137Cs和60Co 3枚γ源实验中,将γ误甄别为β的概率均低于1%。通过β/γ混合源实验,验证了样机能在粒子甄别的基础上,通过一次测量就能同时获取两种射线的能谱。

     

    Abstract: To solve particle crosstalk problem in measuring spectra in a β/γ mixed field, a prototype Phoswich detector with three scintillators was developed. The β and γ were discriminated successfully by the pulse shape discrimination algorithm developed in this work. What’s more, the method to obtain spectra of the two rays was investigated. In the β sources (14C, 36Cl and 90Sr/90Y) experiments, the probability that a β particle was determined mistakenly as a γ is not more than 0.1%. In the γ sources (241Am, 137Cs and 60Co) experiments, the probability that a γ particle was determined mistakenly as a β is under 1%. Through experiment of β/γ mixed sources, it is proved that the prototype detector could discriminate the type of β/γ and obtain spectra of the two rays respectively by only one-time measurement.
