Abstract:
The calibration of the sensitivity function of the GE Typhoon FLA 7000 image plate scanner was studied using hot electron in this paper. The hot electron was generated from the interaction of a short pluse laser with a solid target. Both image plate and absolutely calibrated LiF TLD were exposed to the same hot eletron source, and the sensitivity function of the scanner was calibrated relatively by image plate and LiF TLD. The fitting result shows that the sensitivity function of the scanner decreases slowly in two-component exponentail function, which is consistent with the previously reported results obtained by standard radioactive source. This method provides a reliable approach for calibrating the sensitivity function of the image plate scanner.
