Abstract:
A 500 mm diameter cold crucible induction melter was set up in China Institute of Atomic Energy. In order to establish a graphite ring start-up process that matches the device, an orthogonal experiment was designed to study the influences of inductor height, graphite ring height and graphite ring radius on graphite ring start-up process, and graphite ring mass was studied independently. The results show that the starting-up process is satisfied when inductor height is 90 mm, graphite ring height is 50% or 55%, graphite ring radius is 177 mm and the graphite ring mass is 110 g.
