Abstract:
Wall current monitor is a device to observe the instantaneous beam current in particle accelerators. One of the two wall current monitors installed in CSNS rapid cycling synchrotron is used to measure the micro-pulse information of the beam. The hardware and software of current measurement system were introduced in this paper. In response to the limitations of the traditional oscilloscope in terms of vertical resolution and storage depth, a custom oscilloscope was developed to read the wall current information. The analyses of macro-pulse reading and micro-pulse structure in 20 ms were realized by LabVIEW. The high frequency information can be used to analyze the double bunches with respect to phase, number of turns, shape of the bunch per ring in the rapid cycling synchrotron.
