铀芯块的核法证分析及初步溯源

Study on Nuclear Forensic Analysis and Preliminary Attribution of Uranium Pellet

  • 摘要: 为有效应对核安全事件和潜在的核恐怖威胁,提高核法证分析能力,防止放射性犯罪或恐怖袭击,本工作以核燃料循环中最重要的产品铀芯块作为分析对象,采用核法证分析技术溯源铀芯块的来源及工艺特征。分析了芯块的物理外观特征、微观结构、痕量杂质、稳定同位素组成、年龄等特征指纹信息。在对以上核取证特征指纹信息测量、综合分析的基础上,通过与调研的核燃料芯块资料对比,对样品进行了初步溯源,结果显示,由于不同地质条件与工业过程,铀芯块内遗留有独特的、可区分的信息。其中,核材料的年龄、痕量杂质和稳定同位素组成等特征非常重要。

     

    Abstract: In order to deal with the nuclear security incidents and potential nuclear terrorist threats, and improve the nuclear forensic technology to prevent radioactive crimes or terrorist attacks, in this work, the uranium pellets, the most important product in the nuclear fuel cycle, were used as the analysis objects, and the nuclear forensic analysis technologies were used to trace the source and process conditions of the pellets. The fingerprint informations, such as physical appearance, micro structure, trace impurities, stable isotopic composition and uranium age etc. were analyzed. Based on the measurement and comprehensive analysis of the informations of the above nuclear forensic evidence, and compared with the domestic data of nuclear fuel pellets of the research, the sample pellet was traced to the source tentatively. The unique legacy is found in the uranium pellet due to the different geological conditions and the industrial process, and the characteristics are distinguished. Among all the characteristics, the age of nuclear material, trace impurities and composition of stable isotopes are particularly important.
