Abstract:
More requirements of machine protection system (MPS) for Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) Phase Ⅱ Project are proposed, which can not be satisfied by the existing system. So the MPS upgrade is very necessary. The FL-net technology was used to realize the data sharing among all the interlock programmable logic controller stations of SSRF storage ring. The distributed remote control system of MPS was based on experimental physics and industrial control system (EPICS). Unified interface and hierarchical design for extension part were implemented to avoid the changes of the original system. The new system works stably and reliably during the online operation. The tests show that the response time between stations of MPS is less than 21 ms, which totally satisfies the accelerator’s requirements. In addition, the system becomes more flexible and extensible, and it can meet more different interlock demands in the future.
