Abstract:
To investigate the behaviors of the pressurized water reactor (PWR) fuel rod element precisely, fuel performance analysis code BEEs was developed based on the finite element platform MOOSE. The calculation of burnup, oxide layer thickness and fuel temperature by BEEs code was validated against experimental data. The BR3 Rod test was selected to assess the prediction capacity of BEEs for fuel behaviors during long-term steady operation. The results show that predictions by BEEs code are reasonable and its modeling capacity for PWR fuel rod during normal conditions can be verified.
