Abstract:
A readout electronics prototype system that can be used for high count rate gas detector was developed, which includes frontend board, data acquisition board and host computer. An advanced frontend readout application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chip was utilized to develop the frontend board for realizing the measurement and analogtodigital conversion of the detector signal. The field programmable gate array (FPGA) was used on the data acquisition board to realize the analysis, processing and transmission of the data. The host computer performs the sending of control instruction, the data receiving and storage. The prototype was verified through various tests, and it shows that the integral nonlinearity of all channels is better than 0.24% in the input range of 2.299 fC. The test results with 55Fe radiation source are better than the results of commercial electronics under the same conditions, and this can meet readout requirements of GEMTPC detector at 20 kHz count rate.
