Abstract:
The research and development of an X-band standing wave accelerating tube was described in detail. By establishing the model of two-dimensional electromagnetic field distribution in the beam aperture, the beam dynamics calculation and RF structure design were completed. The finishing process was studied to improve the roughness and machining accuracy of the accelerating cavity. The microwave tuning platform was established. The cavity tuning and whole tube cold test were completed by resonance method and non-resonance perturbation method. The high power test was carried out after brazing and exhausting. The test results show that the electron beam energy reaches 6.1 MeV, and the dose rate at 1 m away after hitting X-ray conversion target is 543 cGy/min, which meets the requirements.
