Abstract:
Uranium plays an important role in the fields of nuclear energy industry. With reactive chemical properties, uranium is easy to react with gases, liquids, and even solid media, leading to surface corrosion. Hydrogen corrosion of uranium is not only a practical engineering problem related to the long-term storage safety of uranium materials, but also one of the most active basic science problems in the field of nuclear material corrosion. In this paper, based on the fundamentals of uranium-hydrogen reaction and the hazards of hydrogen corrosion, the latest progress on the kinetics of hydrogen corrosion of uranium, the nucleation and growth of hydride is elaborated, which focus on the influence of environmental factors and material science factors on the hydrogen corrosion behavior of uranium.
