21世纪以来中国原子能科学研究院的等时性加速器及其应用前沿研究

Frontier Research on Isochronous Accelerator and Its Applications at China Institute of Atomic Energy Since the 21st Century

  • 摘要: 等时性回旋加速器在国家安全和科技创新体系中有不可或缺的地位和作用,新时期,在重大航天工程、前沿科学研究和医疗健康领域,迫切需要等时性加速器的紧凑结构、高能量和高流强等全面取得突破。2000年以来,中国原子能科学研究院针对等时性加速器聚焦力不足这一全球共同面临的根本性技术难题,实现了原理创新、工程突破、紧凑型回旋加速器的型谱化发展和重大领域应用,引领紧凑型强流和超导回旋加速器国内外的发展方向,设计建造了强流和超导共9个能量等级、不同型号的回旋加速器,构建了较为完整的研发体系,成为在国际上有广泛影响力的等时性加速器研究中心,重点在超紧凑、超轻型和高功率等3个低温和高温的等时性超导加速器方向上开展引领性的前沿研究。

     

    Abstract: Isochronous cyclotrons hold an indispensable position in national security and the science and technology innovation system. In the new era, there is an urgent demand for breakthroughs in compact structure, high energy, and high beam intensity of isochronous accelerators in major aerospace projects, frontier scientific research, and the medical and healthcare. Since 2000, China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) has addressed the globally recognized fundamental technical challenge of insufficient focusing strength in isochronous accelerators. Through innovations in principle, engineering breakthroughs, and the systematic development of compact cyclotrons, CIAE has promoted the application of these accelerators in key fields, leading the development direction of compact high-intensity and superconducting cyclotrons both domestically and internationally. A total of nine cyclotrons of various models and energy levels—covering both high-intensity and superconducting types—have been designed and built, forming a relatively complete R&D system. CIAE has thus become an internationally influential center for isochronous accelerator research, focusing on pioneering research in three main directions: ultra-compact, ultra-lightweight, and high-power isochronous cyclotrons based on LTS and HTS technology.
