Evolution of Research Reactor Technology System and Technological Innovation in Reactor Engineering in China Institute of Atomic Energy

  • 摘要: 本文回顾了中国原子能科学研究院(简称原子能院)75年来在反应堆工程技术领域的发展历程。自1950年建院以来,原子能院深度参与我国研究堆技术从无到有、由弱变强的进程,先后建成101重水研究堆、49-2游泳池式轻水反应堆等多座研究堆和零功率反应堆,实现了从核基础技术突破到工程化技术体系形成,再到先进核能技术引领的跨越。原子能院在堆物理、材料创新、运行技术等方面取得了诸多突破,其成果广泛应用于中子物理研究、核医学、高端制造等领域,为国家战略需求提供了有力支撑。当前,人工智能与反应堆技术的融合为其发展带来新机遇,原子能院将积极开展相关研究,以推动技术升级。我国反应堆工程技术已实现从跟跑向部分领域领跑转变,未来借助人工智能持续发展,为核能产业贡献力量。

     

    Abstract: This paper provides a comprehensive review of the 75-year development of reactor engineering technology at the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). Since its founding in 1950, CIAE has played a pivotal role in the evolution of China’s reactor technologies—from initial establishment to technological maturity and leadership. The CIAE has successively designed and constructed a series of research reactors, including the 101 reactor, the 49-2 reactor, and a lot of zero power reactors, marking a progression from foundational breakthroughs in nuclear science to the establishment of a complete reactor engineering system, and eventually to the forefront of advanced nuclear energy technologies. Significant innovations have been achieved in reactor physics, materials science, and operational technologies, enabling wide-ranging applications in neutron science, nuclear medicine, precision manufacturing, and other high-tech domains, thereby providing strong support for national strategic objectives. Today, the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and reactor technology presents transformative opportunities, and CIAE is actively engaged in interdisciplinary research to drive the intelligent evolution of reactor systems. Through decades of sustained innovation, China’s reactor engineering capability has transitioned from a phase of technological adoption to leadership in key areas, and continued integration of AI is expected to further accelerate progress and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the nuclear energy sector.
